FAQ — privacy, data storage, smart-home support, voice, and the technical details.

Manual — install, configure, and run your Ren server.

Getting started

The app needs a Ren server to talk to. After installing the Ren server on your own machine, open the app, accept the first-run consent screen, then open the gear icon in Chat and enter your server's address (for example http://your-server.local:8000). Tap Test connection, and if your server requires pairing, enter the 6-digit code it provides. Full setup steps are in the Manual.

Common issues

"Can't connect" — confirm the server is running and reachable from your device's network, and that the address (including http:// or https:// and port) is correct.

No replies in chat — make sure "Allow Claude access" is on and your server has a valid Anthropic API key configured.

Voice does nothing — voice requires a physical device microphone and microphone permission.

Privacy

See our Privacy Policy — Ren is local-first and we don't collect your data.
