Ren Host
Claude for your home, running on your Mac.
Ren Host turns a Mac you already own into a private home AI. Your conversations and memory stay in a folder on that Mac. You bring your own Anthropic key, so you pay Anthropic directly for what you use and nothing runs through us.

Why run your own
Your memory stays home. Everything Ren remembers is stored in a SQLite database in ~/Library/Application Support/RenHost/ on your Mac. There's no Ren account, and Ren Host sends us nothing: no telemetry and no license check-ins.
You're in control. One menu-bar app starts the server and lists paired devices so you can revoke any of them.
Price
The planned Founder license is $49 for the first 100 buyers, the founder price at launch. Those are planned terms. You also need an Anthropic API key. You pay Anthropic directly for usage. See Anthropic's pricing.
FAQ
Do I need an Anthropic API key? Yes. Ren uses Claude, and you paste your key into Ren Host once. It's stored only on your Mac.
What leaves my Mac? Your messages and their context go to Anthropic's API, under your key and Anthropic's terms. Ren also connects to web pages or services you ask it to use. Nothing goes to us.
Does my Mac have to stay on? Yes. It is the server, so it works best on a Mac that stays awake (a Mac mini is ideal).
How do I talk to Ren? The iPhone app is coming soon.
What if I stop using it? Quit Ren Host, then delete the app and ~/Library/Application Support/RenHost/. That removes everything stored there.
Is it open source? No. Ren Host is proprietary. The planned terms are a personal license.
